Cancelled: Civilian Conservation Corps Self-Guided Tour

Out of caution, park and site events and programs are suspended until further notice. Missouri State Parks is closely monitoring the progression of COVID-19 and its effect in Missouri. We’re sorry for any inconvenience; however, your safety is our top priority.

The Bennett Spring State Park 1772 Company Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) created many structures at Bennett Spring State Park. The public is welcome to stop by the nature center and get a self-guided tour brochure Wednesday through Sunday, Feb. 27 through Oct. 31. The brochure has a map and list of structures that were built in the park between 1933 and 1937. The structures are within 2 miles’ walking distance.

The 1772 CCC consisted of over 200 men who had served in the First World War. There is an exhibit display that has pictures and additional information on the men who raised many of the buildings that formed the core of the town of Brice, which is now Bennett Spring State Park. This map was created by Becky Day, who is a local resident.
