Slambovians Bring Alt-Americana to Lizzie Rose Music Room

The Slambovian Circus of Dreams bring their rootsy, rockin' psychedelica to the Lizzie Rose Music Room in Tuckerton Friday, November 23 at 7:30 pm. ”Hilariously genius, philosophically cosmic, folk-metal mastery", their tuneful avant-folk delivers from the first note with a greater human-ness that rocks.
Known for electrifying live performances, the band has toured extensively here and abroad playing a moody upbeat Americana on stages strewn with exotic instruments. The shamanistic Joziah Longo (a Philly native on vocals, guitar and harmonica) charms with a voice “soothing and bewitching as a snake oil tonic ” - The Big Issue, UK. The band features guitarist / mandolinist Sharkey McEwen (think lovechild of David Gilmour and Duane Allman); multi-instrumentalist Tink Lloyd (accordion, cello, uke, theremin, melodica) and drummer Matthew Abourezk (formerly of Thin White Rope), and bassist Bob Torsello.

“The cool end of Americana” – Maverick Magazine, UK
"9 out of 10 - Love at first spin!" – Americana UK
“Great songs and a whole lotta heart!”– SiriusXM DJ Meg Griffin
“Longo is an awesome songwriter” – Garth Hudson, The Band

With a 6th studio album due out soon (their own imprint -  Storm King Records, distributed by SONY/Orchard), Friday night’s show will be a mix of Slambovian Classics and tunes from the newly recorded album, 'Absolutely Beautiful Friggin' Day'. The band’s music taps a British Invasion vocabulary with dusty American folk overtones and elements of Incredible String Band, Neil Young, The Band, Dylan, Bowie and Syd Barrett.
