The first 250 who registered by the early-bird deadline of September 2 may pick up their Augustana insulated lunch bag here. 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Fryxell Geology Museum Open Swenson Hall of Geosciences 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Class of 1969 Hospitality Room Wilson Center Members of the 50th reunion Class of 1969 are invited to gather and connect throughout the weekend in this hospitality room. 10-11 a.m. Golden Vikings Campus Tour with Kai Swanson ’86, Special Assistant to the President Meet outside the Brunner Theatre Center Lobby On this walking tour, hear stories of Augustana’s history and see the many amazing updates that have occurred in recent years. Golf carts will be available for those who have difficulty navigating the campus. The tour will end at the Tredway Library. 11:30 a.m. Golden Vikings Welcome Luncheon The Gerber Center, Gävle Room This special celebratory luncheon welcomes reunion year classes of 1969, 1964, 1959, 1954 and 1949 to the Golden Vikings Club, a group of alumni who graduated 50 or more years ago. 1:30-3:30 p.m. “Class of 1969 – Times of Transition: Our Lives Then and Through the Years” The Gerber Center, Gävle Room Members of the Class of 1969 will share their thoughts with other interested Golden Vikings about how socio-political events and our experiences at a small liberal arts college influenced their development at the time and how they might have prepared them for the challenges of their careers, personal lives, and rapid social and technological changes. President Emeritus Dr. Thomas Tredway ’57 will begin the afternoon by reviewing important issues from 1965-69 and offering his perspective on changes since then. 3:30-4:30 p.m. Campus Tour with Kai Swanson ’86, Special Assistant to the President Meet outside Brunner Theatre Center Lobby On this walking tour, hear stories of Augustana’s history and see the many amazing updates that have occurred in recent years. At 11:30 a.m., the group will walk to The Gerber Center for lunch. 10 a.m.-noon Student Activities Fair and Cardboard Regatta Quad and the Slough 10:30-11:30 a.m. Hanson Hall of Science Addition Tours Stop by the new Hanson Hall of Science addition for a self-guided tour. Enjoy breathtaking views of campus. The third-floor classroom in the new addition is a perfect place to take a selfie with friends! 11 a.m.-2 p.m. GOLD (Graduates of the Last Decade) Block Party Green space west of Carlsson Evald Hall (future location of the Knowlton Wellness Center) Stop by the first GOLD (Graduates of the Last Decade) Block Party, enjoy food and drinks, and catch up with other young alumni. 11 a.m. Alumni Basketball Game and Family Picnic Carver Center Former Augustana basketball players are invited to take on the current men’s basketball team in an alumni-student game. All alumni basketball players and their families are invited to a BBQ following the game. Your registration includes an Augustana Oktoberfest beer stein, drink tickets and an-all-you-care-to-eat buffet. Cash bar is available after drink tickets have been redeemed. Reserve early as there are only 300 Augustana Oktoberfest steins. 5-8 p.m. Classes of 2009-2019 Gathering Radicle Effect Brewerks and Cool Beanz, Rock Island Members of the classes of 2009-2019 are invited to stop by for a beer and appetizers. SUNDAY, OCTOBER 6 9 a.m. Continental Breakfast Founders Hall Lobby Chaplain Richard Priggie ’74 hosts a meet-and-greet before the worship service. 10:30 a.m. Worship Service Ascension Chapel, Founders Hall Chaplain Richard Priggie ’74 will lead a service with Holy Communion. The Augustana College Chamber Singers will sing hymns of the Swedish and Reformation Tradition. 11:45 a.m. Met and Wed Renewal of Vows Ascension Chapel, Founders Hall Alumni and friends are invited to renew marital vows following the worship service. 1-4 p.m. Fryxell Geology Museum Open Swenson Hall of Geosciences     Departmental Open Houses For a list of departmental open houses during Homecoming 2019, visit www.augustana.edu/homecoming in mid-September. Student Organizations and Greek Events After students return to campus in early September and plan their Homecoming events, all student group events—including Greek events—will be posted at www.augustana.edu/homecoming. Greek alumni also will be notified via email in mid-September. Getting Around Parking is limited at Augustana during Homecoming. For your convenience, we will have a shuttle van running between Stoney Creek Inn, Radisson Moline and campus throughout the weekend. Hop onboard and ride to eliminate the need to find parking on campus. In addition, we will have shuttles and golf carts running to certain areas on campus throughout the weekend. Hotels For your convenience, Augustana has blocked off rooms at several hotels in the Quad Cities. Go to www.augustana.edu/homecoming for a list of nearby hotels.
