OceanView Presents: Alzheimer’s Disease – Communication Strategies That Work

Do you have a loved one who has been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease? If so, you’re invited to join OceanView at Falmouth on Tuesday, January 7, 2020 for its presentation, “Alzheimer’s Disease – Communication Strategies That Work.”
The presentation will focus on how communication can change while someone is living with Alzheimer’s. Peter Baker, LCSW, Program Director of the Alzheimer’s Association Maine Chapter, will present how to interpret verbal and behavioral communication, and identify strategies to help you connect and communicate at each stage of the disease.
Peter holds a master’s degree in social work from the University of Southern Maine and has been working in dementia care since 2006. He has worked in long-term care centers as a Social Services Director, Dementia Program Director and as an Executive Director. In his current role as the program director for the Alzheimer’s Association, Peter oversees the care and support services provided by the Maine Chapter serving the entire state of Maine.
Refreshments and tours of OceanView’s assisted living communities will follow the presentation.
